Buying a used Lexus

How old is too old to buy a used Lexus? Even if their reliability is good, they’re still expensive to maintain.

IMHO the condition and mileage matter more with anything over 10 years old. That said, after 15 years, you really need to check/replace all the hoses, belts and bushings, Lexus, Toyota or whatever. The other big question is whether you're talking about a daily driver or a weekend car.

For me it would vary by model.  The LSs from 20+ years ago were nearly indestructible, though I assume parts, should you need them, would be scarce and expensive. And first gen SCs were way cool.  On the other and, a lot of early IS’s saw duty as tuner cars (I wouldn’t touch one now with a 10 foot pole).
