I'm buying a 2018 BMW i xDrive from a dealership for $27,300 + taxes, fees, and an extended warranty. Is this a good vehicle to invest in and is it a fair price?

I would stay away from those cars as they tend to fall apart after around 6 7 years of age and if you really want a BMW why not lease it. I mean as I see you have the money as you consider to pay 30 grand for a BMW, why don't you lease it or buy a Lexus instead? You have not given a specific model but I assume there is some competitor to it.
Here is what Scotty has to say about BMW:

No! If you absolutely must have a BMW, it’s best to lease and get out of your system. These are way too complex and even with an extended warranty, who wants to keep going to the dealership where it’s not even guaranteed they will do a good job and/or truly fix the problem?
It would help if you provide a model, mileage, … stuff like that.
Anyway, … I wouldn’t consider BMW, … any BMW, as a "vehicle to invest in", but that’s just me. Competitors have caught up, even surpassed the BMW 3-Series ( an assumption from an indicated price ) a while ago, … like around time BMW quit building E-21 models.

'BMW i xDrive' it seems you are buying an AWD version
