A code came up on a scan of my 2009 Toyota Tacoma, 2.7lt. "Low or High Power Supply Voltage". Is the alternator starting to fail or...?

Not necessarily. Vehicles now have various modules for providing voltages other than 12V. One of those could have failed.
You can test the alternator yourself. After cranking it up, put a meter on the battery and make sure it reads around 14V.
Battery dealers will test your battery for free.
