Hi, I have cadillac sts 2006 4.6l v8 with lean condition problem, I get these codes, P0171, P0174, P0101 and P0068.
I have replaced the MAF and MAP sensors three times in 2 months, I also take out the intake manifold and changed the sealings, I replaced the 4 oxygen sensors, I replaced the hose going from the brake booster to the manifold and finally replaced the fuel filter and after all of that I am still having rough idle, bad fuel consumption and the engine light keeps coming every 2 engine start cycle.
Also I would like to mention that the short trim fuel is between 20- 32% while ideling and 5- -10% while driving, when I unplug the MAF sensor the car runs smoothly but the engine light come on, as I mentioned I have replaced the MAF sensor 3 timea with brand new aftermarket sensor.
Long trim fuel is between 10-19%.
Please help find out a solution for this problem and let me know if this can damage the engine if I keep using the car.
Thank you so much in advance.
Thank you so much for such great advise, I wasted a lot of money on aftermarket sensors, I bought 3 non branded sensors and all of them failed, I just bought OEM part and install it and thats it, no more engine light or lean codes.
For everyone with same car model, please buy all critical parts like sensors OEM, The difference in price is not huge.
I have replaced the MAF sensor 3 timea with brand new aftermarket sensor.
An OEM sensor would be a much better choice for such a critical part. Lots of cars don't work well with aftermarket sensors.
