🙂 Which is more expensive in maintenance, during 15 years period of owning a camry or a 4runner? I have a 2014 camry, and want to own an extra car. Wondering between another camry or a 4runner. I love a low cost maintenance and super reliability. Thank you.
4Runners are reliable trucks but thirsty for gas. If you don't need a SUV, get a Camry.
Thank u sir
The 4Runner is a RWD truck platform so you have more moving parts to address (e.g. transfer case, drive shafts, rear differential, rear axle, etc.) and potential failure points, not to mention worse gas mileage. If you don’t need the utility of an SUV/truck and don’t go on dirt roads then I would just stick to a Camry.
BTW, your Camry is in the model year range (2012-2014) that has issues with the transmission (esp. the torque converter). This affected primarily the inline-4 engine configurations. If it was my vehicle, I would consider getting rid of it; you should still be able to get decent money for it in this hot seller’s market. See below:

Assuming it’s not a model year(s) with issues, then the Camry would be less expensive in maintenance (including insurance).
Thank u sir for the answers
Camry is a good daily driver with low cost of maintenance and low gas consumption, but if you have the money and don't mind spending on gas the 4Runner is a great car and you won't regret owning one. So depends on if you want lower cost and low gas consumption or a great fun car in my opinion.
Thank u sir.
I currently owe a 3rd Gen 4Runner (1998). It is super reliable and will last you forever. Like someone else said, they are thirsty for gas. If you got the extra money for gas, go for it.
