Can I just change the spring inside the vvt cam gear of my 2009 toyota corolla to solve the problem of having a rattling or grinding sound when I start the car over it has been sitting overnight of for a few hours.

Well, it would really depend on what was broken inside and heck you'd need to be an engineer to be able to analyze what's actually broken. I've never seen anyone actually do that yet
