Can I replace O2 sensors on my own?

I have a 2009 corolla with the 1.8 4cyl and auto trans with a p0031. My shop is quoting around $440 to replace the O2 sensor. Should I buy the part myself and replace it, would I need a lift to replace it?

Shouldnt need a lift
You will need an O2 sensor socket (free loaner at most aps)
A ratchet and maybe a length of pipe for leverage
Sometimes those sensors can be a bear to remove

Penetrating oil might help also.
