[Solved] Can I Tell A Car to Stop Holding My Hand?

I've been thinking of purchasing a 2005 Lexus GS 4.3L. The only thing tha puts me off is this review I watched on Youtube where they said it controls everything the driver does. Steering, suspension, traction control.

They say there's this "pedal dance" nonsense you can do to turn it all off. Something like: press the hand brake 2 times and hold it, then the brake pedal, then hold down the traction control button.

All sounds a bit complicated to do in the middle of a quick overtake on the motorway. Can't I just turn it off with a computer before I leave home?.

Well basically you can push the traction control button to turn traction control off. And that's an 05 it doesn't have all the complex steering control stuff that the modern ones do so traction control turning off with all you need

@scottykilmer Thanks Scotty. Don't know if you read all your replies, but wanted to say thanks for all the advice. I just got out of 5 years of hell selling my flat thanks to my idiot brother that put me and our mother in trouble, and it was in no small part to advide from you to get a Lexus.

My van broke down and at the same time I found out my brother had been 'persuading' our mother to finance all the crap cars you warn against. Almost lost her her house. So I kicked him out my flat after he wrecked it and almost got me sent to jail with council taxes. Renovated the whole flat and just sold it. I'm probably one of the only people in the world who fit a bath in the backseat of my Lexus IS220. I had to chop it in half with a grinder, but I got it in there. No damage either.

Also amazing what you can fit in the boots of those cars. Anyway, that car got me through it and I did all the maintenance myself over the past year through your videos, and it hasn't missed a beat.

So thanks and God bless you and your family.
