Can old fuel filter/pump cause worse fuel economy?

Hi Scotty, gotta 2000 Mercedes SLK230 with 178,000 miles. Lately I noticed my fuel economy slightly dropping. Was wondering if an old fuel filter and pump could be the cause? The car runs good and there's no warning lights on the dash. Also last week my car did take a second longer to crank longer than usual before starting, but it hasn't happened again.

I've done spark plugs, coils, air filter, and cleaned maf and throttle since owning the last two and a half years. I also do oil changes with full synthetic every 5000 miles.

Could be several things, including fuel delivery. You should use diagnostics to find out rather than throwing money at the problem.
