No, it's a marketing company.

No, they are completely useless.

Never trust the ratings of a company where the ratings are accompanied by or used in advertising , like J.D. Power, car magazines, U.S. New and Word Report. These ratings and reviews are BOUGHT with advertising, junkets, and outright bribes.

Take, for example, Motor Trend, whose "Car of the Year" has included many of the worst cars offered in the U.S. market - the Corvair. Vega, Citation, Renault Alliance, Chrysler PT Cruiser, Chevy Bolt, Alfa Romeo Guilia. These are cars that brought infamy, financial loss and withdrawal from the U.S. market for their makers.

One word: No.

When I say more than that, certain people here come after me. So I'll just say....no.

First of all, they are marketing company. They only talk about initial quality which has nothing to do with the reliability. Any product you see that use J.D. power rating, stay away from it.

No.  They rank cars by how much they're paid by the manufacturers;  totally worthless.

No, they're all lies.

The only ones that are actually somewhat true are Consumer Reports but their ratings aren't always super accurate.
