I own a 2009 Pontiac g6 gt with a 3.5l v6 engine in it and whenever I come to stop it acts like it wants to lunge forward and it makes a slight ticking sound I thought it was the timing chain, or lifters however it doesn’t have a check engine light what do you think the problem could be?

You may have more than one problem lifters aren't going to make it act weird are you just hear a little bit of noise generally that particular symptom is the transmission starting to go out
