Hello Mr Kilmer. I currently own a 2010 Infiniti G37x with 121k miles. I am trying to get rid of it for something better. I am looking at a 2004 Lincoln Town Car with the 4 speed auto and 4.6L V8 vs a Honda Accord with a 4 speed auto and the 4 cylinder engine. Both are the same value at $2k and both have similar milage at just over 220k miles, the only difference is the Honda has had 2 accidents reported and both are at dealerships, which car is best?
Avoid the Honda Accord since it’s been in 2 accidents. The Lincoln Towncar would be my choice. They can be very reliable, roomy, parts are readily available (and cheap), and the vehicle is easy to work on. Just be sure to have an independent, honest mechanic check out the car thoroughly first (it is high mileage after all) and if he says it is OK then get it.
Those are both excellent cars. Me personally I would probably go with the Accord but you really can't go wrong either way.
I would go with the Lincoln myself. Panther platform cars are notoriously reliable.
Any problems with the G37?
what year Accord? Not only has it been in a couple accidents but they are also notorious for transmission failure, check out the Toyota and Honda common problems page in the FAQ to see what model years are affected.
The Lincoln Town Car would be more comfortable as well, so that would be my choice.
