Scotty,
Now my 2007 Honda Accord V6 cranks but won't start. the d for Drive in the dash is flashing and the OBD tester is reading comunication error? The battery is now dead and needs to be jumped. Could this all be due to the battery needing to be replaced? Or do I have other issues? Thank you in advance for your help.You have helped me many times over the years.

I doubt it, but the cheapest way to find out is to put a good battery on the car, reset the codes and then see what happens.

Get the car running and check the voltage at the battery at idle. It should be about 14 volts. If not, the alternator is shot.
