Car Dies while driving on Highway

I have a 2007 Mustang V6 , I had an issue when I used to turn the AC ON and drive on a highway at a consistent speed of around 60-65 MPH for about 40 min the car would die while I was driving, first the steering wheel becomes stiff then the dashboard lights will be lit starting from the engine oil light then battery light afterward the fuel and brake pedals won't work and the car stops. Then I wait for a couple of minutes I turn the car on put the AC OFF and drive normally like nothing happens.

So I decided to never turn the AC on again, It worked great for a couple of weeks and had no issues, until recently I was on a highway and unexpected  the car did the same breakdown and shut off with the exact steps I listed previously although no AC was ON, turned the car On afterwards and then it drives great.

So now I am confused about what could be the issue. I really appreciate any advice on this matter and thanks ahead!

Notes: I have had the engine light for a long time.

Adding to the above comment if you have an AutoZone or Oreilly near you they have scanners you can borrow and scan your car for codes (borrow to use in their parking lot).

That sounds a great idea, but from your experience can you please list me some possible scenarios that can cause this kind of issue

Exactly as @justin-shepherd stated there are many reasons for this, so first scan for codes then report them back so we can give you a better response.

Your check engine light is on, so you have codes stored. There are basic code readers you can buy online. That's the first step in solving this problem. Post them here when you get them.

I appreciate writing me back, I am going to do this soon, but from your experience can you share with me a couple of possible cases that may cause this kind of problem so I can be in the whole picture

There are way too many reasons a car my die suddenly, unfortunately. If we know the codes, that will give us a starting point.
