The problem with the car initially was a code that was diagnosed with my scantool a p101b and a p1050 code that was pending. The symptom then was prolonged misfire which was fixed. But now My brother bmw 3 series have a idle misfire issue at startup only at idle and takes about a minute but will be stable by itself afterward but runs very fine without loss of power. Please help me on what can be done to fix the problem. Another symptom I have noticed with the car is gear not changing properly. But especially that idle misfire problem

What's the model year and mileage?
Start with checking for vacuum leaks.
