As I was accelerating from a complete stop, my 2000 infiniti g20t it badly hesitated while it was hesitating i heard a loud knocking noise coming from the engine bay, and maybe about a couple seconds into the hesitation of the acceleration the car completely shut off, i was able to start it back up again and go home and start it back up again, any ideas to why this is happening, thank you

Make a video on YouTube and post the URL here but knocking noises are not good off in the sign of piston knock or worn timing chains and those engines are fortunate to rebuild
