Hi, my Civic 2005 manual with 200k miles started to hesitate when going uphill but it only does it around 1000 rpm and I accelerate, already tried pouring injector cleaner in gas tank but didn't solved anything.
OK Guys, thanks so much for your help, the scan showed misfire in all 4 cylinders, the problem: the damn sparks even though I replaced them a year ago, on visual inspection sparks looked OK, no large gap, just a bit of dark, perhaps they were faulty from the star (all 4 of them, I KNOW!), now car runs like a dream with the new pump and sparks, I guess the 1000 rpm hesitation, no engine light, etc was just the beginning.
Again thank you so much for your help. {black}:face:
Pressure test the fuel pump.
Thanks, I just replaced it and it feels smother again, Now just to ease my mind, should the car hesitate if you take a hill in 5th gear and you start to lose power?
Yes, it should hesitate. With overdrive gear, you do the cruising not climbing the hill.
Yes, in 5th @1000rpm, most cars will start to complain if you don’t downshift going uphill.
Did your car hesitate going uphill in 2nd at 3-4000rpm before you replaced the fuel pump?
It didn't, thing is that the hesitation only started few weeks ago, before that the car did lost power in 5th but never hesitated
Don’t lug your engine in a high gear at low rpms, especially when going uphill..
Thanks mate, as an update as I mentioned, replaced the fuel pump, it worked for a day or two, now it's worst it does it even on flat roads
TBH, I don’t think my 99 Accord could do a hill at 1000 RPM, ever! I’d have to downshift to get moving.
That's called lugging the engine. There aren't many out there that will pull smoothly uphill from essentially idle speed in top gear, and it can be very hard on your engine. This is why downshifting was invented.

Don't feel too bad. I bought 4 NGK plugs for my truck and two of them were bad.
Update, now car shakes in idle, check engine light is on and flashing, I replaced sparks a year ago, gonna take it to Mec
Scan the car for codes & post them here.
