Car Interior Care

  • Hello Scotty and Everyone, I have a 2020 Mazda 3 with a black leatherette interior. What is the best way to take care of the seats and interior for the long run? Is it the same care as genuine leather interior care? Are there any products you recommend?
  • Thank you for your help.

Well, leatherette is actually a type of vinyl. I use Meguars leather cleaner on mine and am satisfied with it. You can always use the old standby, "saddlesoap"

Clear plastic slipcovers will preserve the seat material against wear.

mom had those on the couch back in the 60's

that looks luxurious to sit on 😆 what about bubble wrap?

You could get them nice and smooth if you didn't like the bubble wrap effect. Just the thing to sit on if you're in shorts and the car had been sitting out in the hot sun all day!

I miss bench seats. Had one my '92 Grand Prix.

AMC had split bench seats with recliners that were a popular option. The two halves could be adjusted independently (both forward/backward and recliner), but unlike buckets they touch in the middle so you can still slide across.
