My wife have a a 1999 honda accord 2.3 vtech manual transmission we were driving through the highway and all the sudden gas pedal stop responding doesn’t respond at all on any gear. Something wrong with the transmission or it’s something else?

Is the throttle opening?
When i opened the hood and puul the cable the car rev up
ok so maybe the pedal or cable just wore out
