Bit of a simple question. My roommate took my 86 olds Cutlass for an oil change and got 10-30 oil in it when it takes 5-30. I know people get thicker oil for older cars but I have had no issues so far. Should I swap out the oil and put 5-30 in it?

The oil is going to be the same thickness at operating temperatures. The winter weight is the only difference, the oil's weight in cold conditions. Do you have really cold winters where you live (less than 50 degrees F)? If you have cold winters, I would switch back to 5w or even 0w. If not, then I wouldn't worry about it.
