Hi Community!
I have a 2014 Toyota Camry (not a hybrid), 2.5L 2-ARFE, 6 Speed Auto which I purchased
used from a rental company about 10 months ago.
It's currently sitting at 173500kms.
Recently I noticed a minor vibration when the car is idling with Air Conditioning turned ON.
There's no warning light on the dashboard either.
Could it be bad motor mounts?
Thanks
Tanmay
Normally, I’d say a 7yr old Camry’s motor/transmission mounts should be in great shape. But, since you bought an ex-rental, all bets are off.
Pray that nothing else fails prematurely on that car, and in future, avoid buying any ex rental car no matter how good the deal is. The longevity of the car is significantly reduced thanks to the way rentals are usually driven.
Watch Scotty’s video on how to check for bad motor mounts & fingers crossed it’s a straight forward fix for you.
In another recent video on a Nissan 350Z, Scotty showed how an intake air leak was causing a rough idle - check for that.
Thank you guys. Hopefully it's a bad motor mount. I will stay away from ex rentals from next time.
Cheers
Tanmay
