Is Rockauto a reliable parts source? Also, I have an 02 Forester class L with 205k on it, I was quoted over 3K for suspension repairs. Is it worth it? The engine has about 150K since it was replaced due to carelessness from a repair shop. It runs well but suspension needs work. Would appreciate some opinions. Thanks in advance
With Rockauto the main thing you want to do is group your purchases so as much as possible comes from the same warehouse or the shipping charges will eat you alive. Also they always have a 5% discount coupon code going, you can just do an internet search for "rockauto coupon code". (Current 5% off code is 176497081139004586.)
$3K sounds like an awful lot for front end work! Was that quote from a dealer? I'd get a 2nd opinion on that, from a good independent mechanic. Dealerships have earned the nickname "stealerships" for a reason.
Sorry I wasn't clear, it was both front and rear, along with axles and tie rods: My first car so don't know much but I'm thinking of tackling at least the front struts myself with help.
Get a lot of my parts from Rock Auto.
yes
I've bought a lot of parts through Rock Auto for my 2003 Tundra and 1992 Camry (sold). They're very good. Sometimes they'll give you an option to get the OEM part or an aftermarket non-oem part.
I expect I'll be using them for my newly purchased 2018 Toyota 86 when the time comes.
i bought some parts for a beater corolla through rock auto , shipped fast, great price, exact fit
here is Rona
doubt that i would spend $3k on suspension
There’s something about a white car with black steel wheels which looks superb!
