Hi Scotty, I am a big fan of you. I owned a Kia Spectra EX 2009, 4 speed automatic with 172000 miles . My car lately is acting up when I am driving on the highway. When I accelerate to go fast or when I slow down, the car feels like it loses power and when I accelerate the car stars vibrating and the transmission gets weak on acceleration, also when I am accelerating the revs don't go up and stay flat at 2000 revs. Sometimes the transmission goes back to normal when I slow down and make it downshift until I feel a strong change of gear, the other method is parking somewhere, shutting off the car and turn it back on. Is the transmission giving up?
Most likely, going off the age and mileage, the transmission is tired and starting to wear out.
I would start looking for a replacement as you're not going to want to pay to replace the trans in that car. I'd also get away from Kia/Hyundai on your next purchase.
I would 2nd that . Sounds like a transmission problem.
