Hey Scotty,
I was wondering if you could tell me which of the cars below would give me more bang for my buck. They are ALL Automatic and I have purchased from the dealer before so he is reputable. I have a 10K Budget. Anything you can say will help a lot. I drive about 30 minutes back and forth from work to home but my husband takes my SUV’s when it snows and drives about 3 hours round trip (ONLY ON OCCASION) He has a Honda Fit and it is not very reliable in the UPSTATE NY SNOW.
Choices:
2010 Volkswagen Tiguan SE 4Motion / 7,995 / 85,000 miles
2008 Toyota RAV4 Sport / 8,500 / 103,000 Miles
2010 Honda CR-V EX-L / 9,500 /111,000 Miles
2015 Subaru Forester 2.5i Premium /10,995 / 112,600 miles
First of all I would forget about the Tiguan. They generally fall apart and that is too expensive anyways. The Rav4 would be my choise if it is a V6. If it is a 4 cylinder, the engines were built with defects and they burn oil. I would go with the CR-V in that case. I would still have a mechanic check it out.
The FAQ's car buying guide's toyotas to avoid list lists the 2006-2008 Toyota Rav4 2.4 for: Excessive oil consumption and defective engine design.

Run away fast from that Tiguan, they are endless money pits. The rest of the list are good choices though.
It would be the RAV-4 for me out of those, with the Tiguan being the worst.
