It depends what kind of accident.
If it was just a minor fender bender from lack of concentration while digging into a Big Mac, I’d buy it, after knocking down the price substantially.
But if it was smashed to smithereens and the chassis was bent/damaged/needed repair, as others here recommend -
Agreed, my 4runner was in an accident, a guy rear ended while I was at a stand still. He hit me pretty good, but I couldn't even see the damage on my rear bumper at first. Was it in an accident, yes, was it anything to worry about, no. If he has proof of what the accident was, you may be able to get a good deal.
