Hello I have a 2005 Nissan Altima with 105,000 miles, Automatic transmission. When the car shift to drive is delayed to engage. Takes around 10 seconds to engages and when it does it jitters. It Happens mostly when it's cold and sometimes when it's warm . only happens to drive, when i shift to 1 or 2 it engages without delay, so does reverse.

what is the fluid level and condition?
The fluid looks pink however I'm not sure about the level the stick is weird is like a wire and then a little oval at the end.
the oval is the business end. It should have some marks on it.
crack open the owner's manual to see how to check it.

Your transmission is shot.

Add some Lucas transmission additive and pray it helps.
