So on my 2010 mustang GT, I replaced the spark plugs. Car was at 87 thousand miles when I did it. Before it had no rattle. But it started rattling right after I started the car again. I didn’t gap the spark plugs they were NGK iridium spark plugs. Should I remove them and regap them? Or should I just go OEM and use motor craft spark plugs? Thank you.
I have had bad NGK spark plugs lately. There is no continuity thru the plug. Put an ohm meter on them to find the bad one.
Thank you I will try this out and see if this resolves my issue appreciate it.
I did what u said the plug didn’t have continuity I changed it out. Now the car misfires in that cylinder it wouldn’t before now it does.
Any misfire codes? Did you verify everything was plugged back in correctly?
I did I had no codes. I took the advice of the person prior to your reply. Now my car misfires in that cylinder. I’m going to replace the plug again with a new one in the same cylinder. If it still misfires I’ll probably just replace the boot or all of them all together.
Great, I’m glad you isolated the fault. All the best!
If you put a new, tested spark plug in and it misfired in that cylinder, it must be a problem with the coil pack. If there is a misfire, the car will throw codes. Please advice us as to what codes are showing.
Currently at work but once I get home I will rescan the car again thank you for your help.
