Car Rumbling Problem

Hey Scotty, I have a 2000 Lexus ES300 with just over 90k miles on it. I experienced some heavy rumbling just at high speeds and it got worse when I hit the brakes. The brake pads and rotors have all been replaced and it still rumbles at high speeds, but doesn’t get worse when the brakes are applied now that they’ve been replaced.

Any ideas on what may be the issue? Thanks!

Check the tires. They may be out of balance. I would also check the wheel bearings as well.

Check the brakes also because whoever did the brake job on your car must have used the cheapest brake pads and rotors on it. They may warped.

Thank you for your response. My dad and I replaced all the brake pads and rotors and made sure to get new ceramic pads and high quality rotors. I had new tires put on them for a similar rumbling issue a year ago so I’m wondering if maybe a bad bearing is wearing the tire out of balance or wearing it down in general?

Check the bearings. It could be the culprit. Also what brake brand did you guys buy?

Just regular carquest break pads. They don’t rumble worse when I hit the brakes like they first did before they were replaced, so it’s making me think it’s a bearing or tire(s) out of balance like you said.
