Car shaking on cold startup

Hi Scotty! Lloyd here from Sunny South Africa!

I currently own a 2016 Ford Fiesta 1.0L Ecoboost Trend, Manual (Standard) transmission with 89000km on the clock with full-service history. I had it for about 3 and a half years.

It recently had a code for P2177 - Air Fuel too lean on idle bank 1. After a massive amount of tests, my mechanic found out that the issue was the fuel injectors being clogged up and since the injectors got cleaned, my cars been driving great as it moves a lot better and the gas mileage is so much better now! But I noticed something, that I'm not too sure about.

When I start my car up in the mornings or when it's chilly outside (as it is winter now), my car is shaking a bit and when I look at the Speedometer, I see my RPM's going up and down ever so slightly (it moves roughly up and down between 1500 - 1700 rpm). If I leave the car running on idle for about a minute, the shaking stops and my car is at a steady 1000rpm with no issues at all. It is pretty cold outside as it is winter here in South Africa and when I spoke to the mechanic, he mentioned it might be the cold.

Is this something I should worry about? OR am I just been paranoid?

Love your content and wish you all the best!

Clean the MAF sensor and ICV valve.

Thanks for the response! I remember he did clean the MAF Sensor when he was diagnosing the car (I was there with him when he was diagnosing it), but I don't think he did the ICV vavle. I have no experience with working on cars, so I'm going to ask him to do that and see the results.

Thank you!

You're welcome. Keep us posted.

I took it to my mechanic yesterday shortly after your reply and he cleaned the ICV calve. I started the car up a few hours ago and there was no shaking! Thank you so much!

You're welcome. I'm glad it worked!
