Car shudders when idling at low speeds

I have a 2003 Toyota corolla 137000kms (~170,000 miles) manual, that I bought used from a private party recently, I noticed that while I am at low speeds and the engine is cold if I take my foot off the accelerator while moving the car shudders and slows down as well as while stopped it shakes a bit too much than normal when stopped. Am I correct in thinking it might be the Idle air control valve being clogged or are there possibly other issues and what should I look for on a scan tool to narrow the search. thanks

First, do a scan.  Then check the usual suspects, air filter, MAF sensor, PCV valve, throttle body, etc.
