I have a 2012 Ford Fusion (159,200 miles). 2.5L 4cyl. Automatic. No OBDII codes.
I was driving home on the interstate at 75mph when on three separate occasions with the windows up I smelled the odor of sewer gas. What could this possibly be?

was the AC on? You may have a colony of microbes growing on your evaporator core.

If equipped, check the cabin air filter.

Possibly a dead critter in your HVAC plenum.

A/C was definitely off. The weather was cool crisp October outside air. I was only venting with outside air with the fan.
