2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor, V6, Automatic, with 203M miles. In May of 2022 car had rough idle & cut off. Code was set. Shop replaced throttle body & gas pedal sensor assembly. Car ran great until Nov 2022, with same issue, but no code was set. Shop checked car, but could not replicate problem. Picked up car, I proceeded to clean & re-install MAF sensor, also disconnected battery totally to protect ECM. Re-installed MAF sensor and connected battery. Car ran great until April 2023. Same issue surfaced, but no code set. Same shop totally checked system including fuel pressure. Car did experience same issue along with engine surging, while in shop & also at stoplight, but they said that car all of a sudden started running fine with no codes ever set. The warranty on their labor & the parts used expires in May of this year. I would hope that they are being honest with me, as that shop has a great reputation & has not charged me a dime to check it out these last 2 times.
Are fuel trims OK? Did they check for vacuum leaks? After nearly 20 years it's not unlikely that some vacuum hoses have deteriorated.
