How do I fix my stalling 1970 Mustang

Car is a 1970 ford mustang 351 Cleveland engine. Before take off as I let off clutch I have to give extra gas to keep the engine running. Once it gets going I feel lack of power and acceleration and once I come up to a stop the engine stalls. What is happening?

Note: I changed the fuel pump last fall. It's an external electric. The one I replaced had no markings or numbers on it so I don't know if I replaced with an exact duplicate or not. So I could have put on a pump that's not putting out enough pressure.

Definitely sounds like a fuel problem. You may need a pump with a higher flow rate for your engine. I would take a look online and see of you can find one that is known to be good for the 351. Shouldn't be too hard.
