2010 Kia Soul, 150k miles, automatic
So this car starts up fine, but then dies when you give it gas. No engine light. Any idea what the problem could be?

Check the fuel pressure with a fuel pressure gauge that you can rent at AutoZone. It should hold steady at 60 PSI across the entire range of the throttle. If it loses pressure, replace the fuel pump.

Many things can do that. Start by looking for vacuum leaks and of course check things like clogged air filter, worn out spark plugs
