Car stops at certain speed

Hello, I have a 2008 Ford Escape XLT that had a recent engine replacement and catalytic converter. Shortly after the car stops when going from high speeds to lower or immediate stop for instance going on the highway about 75 then coming to a stop the car will turn off but all I have to do I put it in park and start it up again. Any suggestions of what it might be ?

Thank you everyone! There isn’t any codes but I will definitely be checking for all the other possible issues.

It could be your computer isn't configuring the change, try removing battery terminals and hold them together draining all power to the system, and reconnect battery as this should bring it back to manufacture spec, take it for a drive and let it relearn its driving

As Joe mentioned, check for any codes. If there aren’t any, check for a dirty throttle body and/or Idle Air Control valve.

do any warning lights come up on the cluster?

Check the fuel injectors too. You may have leaky injectors.

I'd suspect a dirty/sticky idle air control valve also.

It's supposed to "step in" when you take your foot off of the accelerator to maintain enough airflow to keep from stalling.
