My 1995 Mustang 5.0 (140k miles, automatic) randomly started running strange, when it got home it was unable to start again, I quickly put the OEM ignition coil on it (MSN was on before) and it sounded like it wanted to start a little bit more, when i put my foot half way down the throttle it started but sounded awful, kinda like a cammed sports car or like a 60s muscle, when i tried again an hour or two later it did the same but when it started up it idled just fine, when i gave it a little bit of gas it backfired and when i revved it up it sounded like it either wasn’t getting enough fuel or the spark plugs were bad, any guesses? thanks
I would suspect the distributor or plug wires
recently (within 2 months) had the entire ignition system replaced, do you think it could be a timing issue? i’m gonna break down the engine soon anyway just wanted some insight, thanks.
yes, bad timing would certainly do it.
