I would like to know your opinion of car shield. I can’t believe that you can go to any mechanic, or car dealer, and have this warranty honored.
I agree with Kaizen. Usually, warranty companies will try each and every way possible to get out of paying for an insurance claim. So, you just end up losing out in the long run with monthly/yearly payments. For cars, as long as you get a reliable and well built model and perform normal maintenance on it, there's really no reason to purchase a warranty.
When it comes to car warranty companies, I think it is smarter to put that money you would pay for warranty away for a rainy day. That goes for many extended warranty, not just cars.
I like your question. They market themselves really well and make it sound so good. I imagine they will make you prove you’ve followed the car’s maintenance schedule if you have something major, like engine or transmission. If you buy a used car and don’t have the full history of what was done to the car before you owned it, it could be difficult to prove that the maintenance schedule was followed.
It depends on the cost of the warranty and do your research on the company and it’s coverages if you spend 1500-2k on the warranty and it’s a newer model car it could be a life saver even if the radio craps out some of them alone can be 3-4K to replace even aside from possible engine or trans problems so in my opinion they are worth the investment. I’m a fan of cost guard warranty they care good and they don’t fight the cost of repairs
As Scotty would say, try and get the right car in the first place. No car or brand is perfect but you increase your odds of not needing a repair if you choose wisely.
First, I think that in general, insurance plans are nothing more than legalized extortion. You might want to be very careful to read the fine print. Can you really take the car for repair anywhere or just to their so called network of repair shops. You probably want to get a list of their approved shops and check them out before hand to see if you would even take your car in even if you were paying the full bill. Lastly, I would not personally buy anything from someone who uses fear as their main selling point.
