Hi Scotty, maybe You can give me some advice on this problem I'm having.

My father gave me this Tribute, I got it tuned up. When I got it back, it idled rough. The Tribute having 127,000 miles it never had problems same transmission same engine engine. Always changed the oil. The only reason I took it for tuneup was to replace sparkplugs and to put new valve cover gasket. When I got it back I put it in drive, idle goes up and the tribute barely moves. I take transmission dip stick out doesnt smell burned. what can the problem be. I have no clue what the mechanic did. The Tribute is out of commission I paid almost $1000 for a tuneup  it doesnt even work.  Could you drop some knowledge . I'm confused.

$1000 for spark plugs and valve cover gasket? {black} That seems a bit much, though admittedly I don't know how tough a job it is on that thing. (I could do that job in about 30 minutes on mine.)

Does the engine rev up when you hit the accelerator? If it does and the vehicle doesn't move with the trans in drive the transmission is probably shot. On the other hand if the problem is the engine stumbling and bogging down, check to see if there are any vacuum leaks. It's possible the shop may have dislodged something. (Though you'd think they would have noticed the way it was running and looked into it instead of giving it back to you that way.)

Oil: 5K miles (manual says 10K)

CVT Transmission Oil: 50-60K miles (I think that is what the manual recommends too). If it was a Nissan, I would say 25-50K miles.
