Car won't start on first try.

I have a 2004 Nissan 350z automatic with 68,000 miles. Occasionally after sitting for a while or overnight, the car won't start on the first try, even after leaving the keys in the "on" position for a few seconds to give the fuel pump time to start up. The car has no check engine codes either.

I bought the car from the original owner, who only put about 2,000 miles on the car in his last 3 years of ownership. I recently changed the battery and cleaned the MAF sensor and the throttle body, but didn't seem to help the situation.

Any idea what it could possibly be?

Watch Scotty’s video on how to fix a car that cranks but won’t start. The video will take you through the list of all items which need to be checked.

Pressure test the fuel pump as often, it won’t throw any codes if it’s starts going bad.
