Car won’t turn off

Hello!

I recently experienced an issue with my car and was looking for some car advise. I have a 2016 Infiniti Q50 47,902 miles, lasted weekend I started my car and received and error message on my dash that said “key system error see owner manual” from there I tried to turn my car off and and the engine would not go off. I took my car to the dealership and they told me my BCM would need to be replaced and I would need to get some tubes drained since I did have some water damage from water getting into the car. My question to you is do you think it’s genuinely an issue with the BCM since my car starts fine, all the lights, horn etc. is still working fine and the key fob is still completely controlling the car? Any advise would be much appreciated. Thanks and I hope you enjoyed your vacation!

Sounds reasonable. If they checked to see if the voltage signal from the ignition switch was reaching the BCM and also discovered water incursion at the BCM it's likely the BCM was damaged.
