Carbon Build Up maintenance on GDI engines

Hi, this is Jorge Sánchez from Monterrey Mexico. I have a 2016 Kia Optima 2.4 GDi and Honda Accord 2014 2.4 also with direct Fuel injection. I wanted to check which is the best way to avoid carbon Build Up, best product and how to use it. They both have approx 60,000 miles. They work great but want to have them 100% as I am not planning on selling them soon.

Thanks in advance

Jorge S

To mitigate the issue you would need to install a catch can, which has been discussed extensively below (including video on ones to get):

If you already have lots of carbon buildup, then you will have to clean the intake valves.  See video below for that:

Use the gas that is recommended by the manufacture and do all of the maintenance regularly.
