Why are Scotty’s customer’s cars so dirty?

Ok guys this might be a strange one but have you ever noticed how dirty and dusty the cars of Scotty's customers are?

Don't Americans take care of their cars? They don't even bother to clean the dash when they know their car would be recorded?

Sorry; this just looks really eye-catching for me.

Here in Europe we drive around in clean cars and people generally take better care of their automobiles around here; I'd say.

Let's assume you're a first time car-buyer and got 2 grand to spend. I feel like in Europe; with little effort of searching around; you can still find 20 year old Volkswagens or Toyotas/Hondas that can run for a few years or so; whereas I'd say in the US you're unable to find a halfway decent car in that price range.

I apologize if I offended anyone but that's how I see it.

I go to Europe on a regular basis, and what you claim is bull-dung.

Let me explain something to you.

If you think that judging a car based on how clean it is above everything else is the best way to view a vehicle's care-taker, your value system for an automobile is convoluted.

In America, many people use their cars for long periods of time without washing them because they have no desire to look good for the camera, because the majority of cars on the road are not 1st place show cars, they are daily drivers and will be treated as such, and the roads are sometimes just dirty and unkept, the US is a big place after all.

I've actually heard many people say to leave in all the wear and tear of their vehicle when recording, so that way it's more realistic and it shows the car is actually used. And some people in the US like to hold onto their cars for as long as 30 or even 40 years, like Scotty himself, so I think that shows if we really care about our cars, we do take care of them, but sometimes we only need to take care of what is necessary, not what just what is shiny or fancy to show it off to people who don't care.

Have fun with your small cars and your small roads over in the European Union.

Sorry if I sound triggered, but I just thought I should make a few points.

Don’t let the Scotty YouTube sample size distort your view. It’s a big mix of keeping cars clean, or having them really messy. ½ my family is all about having a clean car, and the other 1/2 is super messy.

And I think that goes with the general population. Maybe the ratio’s are a little bit different, but there is a good mix.

Especially in the area I live, there are a ton of car washes that are always busy. So a ton of clean cars. And then there are cars parked on the side of the street with a hole bunch of junk or paperwork.

It’s a whole gamut.

I feel like people who are watching Scotty's videos aren't going to care how clean or dirty it is unless you're some kind of perfectionist. The video is not about cosmetics but it is about giving true legit information.

Don’t judge a book by its cover.

I watch Scotty’s videos but I don’t make much of the condition of his customer’s cars. In short, who cares - that’s their business.  It is what it is.

I don’t see how one can conclude Americans in general don’t take care of their cars based on the condition of Scotty’s customers’ cars.
