I recently put in a timing chain set (camshaft oil control valves, chain tensioners, rails and chains). When the shop test drove it after the installation, they said there is a new problem, low oil pressure but only at idle, perfect when above 2000 rpm. They now say it could be a worn oil pump or balance shafts, sensor switch... any recommendations?

It could be your oil pressure switch went south. You might consider replacing it before tearing the front of the engine apart, again.

Verify the oil pressure problem with a mechanical gauge before tearing anything apart. Sensors go bad all the time.
