Hello is a 2011 Lincoln MKX with 118k a good suv to buy for $ten thousand?

I would definitely pass. The 2011 Lincoln MKX (based on Ford Edge platform) has the 3.7L Cyclone (or Duratec) V6 engine, and like the Ford Edge has a timing chain driven water pump (located within the engine behind timing chain cover) and if it leaked could mix with the engine oil and worst case take out the whole engine. Even if you caught it early it’s still about $1,200-$2,000 to replace the water pump since the engine has to come out.
