For some new cars there's no alternative to the low profile tire/no spare combo, which I'm not crazy about.
Hypothetically, if I were to buy, say, a new Civic hybrid, and assume I'm physically able to place/secure a kit in the spot where spares go in the normal Civic.
Is there more to it? Is it possible for the typical Civic spare (e.g., same model year) to be otherwise incompatible with the hybrid model? How would I check?
The sales and parts people at the local dealership can barely tie their own shoelaces; I'm not confident I would get a reliable answer from them.
Thanks in advance to anyone with thoughts on this.
I have quite a few customers who do buy a spare tire and find a place to put it in. What they often do is go to a junkyard with the car and see what rim will fit on. Then they buy a tire for that rim or if it already comes with a tire just find a place to put it. Yeah the idiots at the dealerships they don't know anything
