Hello, I recently bought 2017 Toyota sienna le, with 69k miles on it. I’m going to use it for uber, I drive every day about 11-12 hours in nyc. Could you recomend me which oil will be better? Castrol, valvoline or mobil 1.
Thank You.
They are all excellent oils, I would not hesitate to use any of them as long as the API spec and viscosity are suitable for your car. Be sure to change oil every 5000 miles especially since you'll be in stop and go traffic. If you want to save a little money on oil changes, Wal-Mart's "SuperTech" brand and Costco's "Kirkland" brand are both made by Warren Oil and quite good as well.
Use any engine oil that meets the specifications/standards in your owner’s manual. Me - I use Mobil 1 in my vehicles.
Scotty uses Castrol oils in his cars if I remember right, but those are all quality motor oils. As long as the oil has the certification seal on the bottle, motor oil is more or less motor oil in the U.S. additives will vary from brand to brand as "trade secrets." A friend of mine uses Walmart Super Tech oil because it's cheap. I use Pennzoil Platinum and Pennzoil High Mileage conventional. Just try not to bounce from brand to brand constantly, there's no telling what, I'd anything will happen with those different additives.
As long as you're using synthetic, you're ok.
I recommend and use exclusively Mobil 1, but you can use whatever you want...its not like it used to be as any major motor oil brand will do the trick.
It does not matter what brand name is on the bottle. It has to meet the API and weight requirements of the engine as specified by the manufacturer. Brand names do not matter.
Keep in mind that toyotas were going hundreds of thousands of miles with conventional oil, long before they were pushing synthetic. I am all for synthetic, as I want my car to last as long as possible. As others have said, any of those are good, change it regular, along with other fluids, and enjoy it for as long as you want to.
I usually just go with whatever of the major oil brands are on sale when I need it.
