Is the 2004 volvo C70 decent and/or reliable for a European car?

Clarification: What is the mileage on the one you are looking at?  Also, engine and transmission?

They're super expensive to fix when either their engines are transmissions go out but generally they're good for at least $150,000 mi I would not buy an older high mileage one though

Thanks sooo much for all the wisdom you put out, Scotty!!! 💜💜

No.  It's 17 years old, are you kidding?

It’s a bit old and those do require good maintenance.

as an owner of a Volvo that’s also built on the P1 platform - I can tell you that they’re decent until you encounter an issue that costs an arm and a leg to fix.

Also, most automatics of that era were pretty terrible (Especially Aisin 5 speeds) - so if I’d get one it’d be only a manual.

I personally wouldn’t get one with over 100k miles, as Scotty said they usually last about 150k (although Volvo claims it’s cars are good for up to 200k) - but they can fail way before that.
