I'm planning on buying a C3 Corvette near the end of this year. I'm most likely going to go for a small block because they're significantly cheaper and more abundant. And preferably a 1969 to 74 model, but I'll settle for anything as long as it's pre-1976 (I live in California, so you can probably guess why that's so important). I can do general repairs and maintenance to vehicles but don't know if there's anything specific I should be looking for or watch out for when buying, as I haven't bought this genre or age of car before.

Check for any rust on the car. Make sure that a wet/dry compression test is done on the motor prior to buying.
