Hello Scotty and thank you very much for taking the time to review my question . I bought a 2007 Honda Accord se with 87000 miles ( automatic ) ( private party dealership ) . On Friday 11/14/20 I bought the car and on 11/16/20 morning I had a check engine light that same afternoon I took it to AutoZone to get it scanned (Code P0420 ) (catalytic converter ) I called the guy where I bought the vehicle from he said to buy Engine fluid to clean the catalyst converter does that stuff really work ? The guy is blaming the light on WAWA gas he’s said that’s bad gas. . . so on 11/19 I took the car over to his shop so te can take a look at the car he took off the light he keeps insisting to get the car inspectedand Because I’m a PA resident and the car is from Delaware . What are your thoughts
DO NOT do anything to the car.
You bought the car from a dealership and for most states, they are required to give you 60 days free maintenance if you have any issue with drivetrain. The P code is related to that. Check the Delaware rules to make sure this is the case. If so, take the car back and ask them to fix it. They can not refuse it.
@yaser
Thanks for the info ! I will definitely take look at that because for some reason he keep insisting to get it inspected in PA but I know I still have 60 days to do so .
