Going to check out a Subaru for sale by private party seller who has owned it for the last 10 years. 2004 Subaru Forester X with 229,xxx miles. 2.5L Automatic - Owner uses it as her daily driver.
Has a Check engine light on and wondering what it might be... Woman who owns states, "The check engine light is something about the 1 and 3 cylinders. There has been a water pump, timing belt, new plugs, wires etc about 50,000 miles ago."
Drips oil from head gasket,\ but that's something I can fix if I buy it.
Thoughts?
Get a scan for codes.
Yea, just trying to get an initial idea of what's possibly wrong before I drive 1.5 hours there to take a look and get a scan.
“Drips oil from the head gasket”
Thanks, but no thanks. The CEL is probably on for the P0300 due to a blown head gasket.
Keep looking..
